Location: Dallas, Texas

Workplace type: Hybrid. Travel required.

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Communications with 10+ years of public relations and communications expertise, including public company experience. This role requires a highly skilled professional who can take full ownership of the communications function, from strategy development to execution, without relying on external contractors. The ideal candidate will excel in graphic design, content creation, investor relations, event management, and stakeholder communications.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Develop, strategize, and execute effective communication strategies tailored to public company operations.
  • Write and manage the production of shareholder reports, internal organizational reports, and investor relations content.
  • Fully own the creation of external news releases, including writing, editing, and distribution.
  • Ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with organizational messaging for all public-facing communications.
  • Directly design, create, and execute graphic and visual materials to support communication strategies—without outsourcing tasks.
  • Produce visually compelling content aligned with corporate branding guidelines for presentations, news releases, and investor materials.
  • Plan and execute communication strategies for large-scale conventions and events, addressing challenges associated with engaging big groups effectively.
  • Ensure smooth logistics and cohesive messaging for public-facing events and investor meetings.
  • Draft high-quality internal reports summarizing organizational updates and achievements for stakeholders, including executive leadership and shareholders.
  • Develop presentations and written content that showcase organizational value propositions for various audiences.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the company and investors, ensuring consistent, transparent, and impactful communication regarding organizational goals and financial performance.
  • Support regular investor relations communications through detailed reporting and updates.

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years in communications, public relations, or related roles.
  • Industry Experience Required : Energy, Oil and Gas, Pharmaceuticals, or any industry involving risk capital.
  • Extensive experience working with public companies, including creating shareholder and investor reports.
  • Proven ability to write, edit, and produce high-quality press releases, reports, and presentations independently.
  • Strong expertise in event management, managing large groups during public-facing conventions and communications activities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with executives.
