Position Title: Outside Sales Representative
Reports To: Stock & Supply Manager
Location: Columbia, MD
Type: Full-Time, Commission-Based
Job Summary: As an Outside Sales Representative for Chesapeake Construction Supply, you will be responsible for driving sales, cultivating relationships, and growing revenue within your designated territory. You will act as a liaison between our agency and prospective clients, promoting the agency’s products and services with professionalism and integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Business Development:
Call on existing customer base within the company’s geographic territory
Generate new business opportunities by prospecting and networking with potential clients.
Develop and maintain a pipeline of new business while achieving sales goals and targets.
Create and deliver persuasive sales presentations to potential clients.
Client Relationship Management:
Cultivate long-term relationships with both new and existing clients by providing exceptional customer service and regular follow-up.
Act as the main point of contact between clients and the agency, ensuring client satisfaction and retention.
Troubleshoot and resolve customer issues, ensuring that clients receive timely and accurate service.
Market Research:
Stay current with industry trends, competitor activities, and client needs to identify new sales opportunities.
Provide feedback on market conditions, sales forecasts, and competitor offerings to the sales management team.
Collaboration & Reporting:
Collaborate with the internal team to ensure alignment between client needs and agency offerings.
Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and outcomes using TTS software.
Sales Strategies & Execution:
Develop customized sales strategies to reach target markets and meet sales objectives.
Represent the agency at trade shows, conferences, and other industry events to increase brand awareness and expand your network.
Qualifications:
Experience: 3+ years in outside sales, preferably within a rep agency or similar industry.
Skills:
Strong sales negotiation and closing skills.
Ability to build rapport and trust with clients.
Self-motivated with a results-driven attitude.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (preferred but not required).
Travel: Willingness to travel within the assigned territory, including client visits, trade shows, and events.
