Requirements & Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
• Some Conventional underwriting experience
• Well-developed understanding of mortgage processing, underwriting, closing procedures
• Experience in a paperless environment; E360 Encompass preferred
• Excellent interpersonal & communication skills (written & verbal)
• Ability to work well independently, multi-task, and handle time-sensitive material in a fast-paced environment
• Results-oriented, with strong critical thinking, analytical, and organizational skills

Position Responsibilities

• Analyze loan-to-value ratios, debt-to-income ratios, credit reports, applications, income and asset documentation, appraisals, and other loan documentation to ensure that each loan meets the standards set forth by AFR and governing agencies for residential mortgages in the wholesale/correspondent environment
• Efficiently communicate with internal and external partners to procure appropriate information necessary to finalize the loan process
• Maintain current knowledge of all updates in loan underwriting and mortgage industry guidelines;
• Communicate frequently with internal and external partners to ensure superior customer service
• Management and oversight of your pipeline
• Underwriting and clearing conditions, efficiently handling underwriting work load
• Provide daily and weekly updates to management team
