We have an opening for a Marine/HVAC Engineer to support the USCG Ship Design Team. This position is a hybrid position with 2-3 days per week of onsite support at the USCG Headquarters in Washington, DC.
Primary Responsibilities
- Design, develop and evaluate operation of shipboard HVAC&R systems (including heating/cooling load, duct sizing and chill water piping calculations, equipment selection.
- Conduct HVAC&R trade studies.
- Lead engineers in development efforts, reviews of technical data packages and coordinate with other functional areas to complete ship design.
Basic Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship and must be eligible to be granted a security clearance.
- BS or MS in Technical, Engineering, or Marine degree from ABET accredited institution, related to field of work.
- Minimum of 5 years' documented experience relating to the design of marine HVAC and/or refrigeration systems.
- Knowledge of ABS, USN, and industry standards relating to shipboard HVAC systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Active Secret security clearance.
- Additional certifications, such as PE License, PMP, DHS Systems Engineering Certification, or DHS Program Management Certifications.
- Experience with DoD ACAT I or DHS Level I shipbuilding programs.

Pay Range: Pay Range $81,250.00 - $146,875.00
