About the Role

The Company is seeking a full-time Executive Director for Policy Analysis for California Education (PACE). The successful candidate will be the strategic and operational leader of PACE, with a primary responsibility to advance the organization's mission of improving K12 education policy and practice in California. This role involves leading a small, dynamic staff, partnering with faculty, and engaging with a diverse set of stakeholders, including policymakers, funders, and researchers. The Executive Director will be expected to provide leadership, design and oversee the implementation of complex programs, and ensure that PACE's research is objective, nonpartisan, and relevant to the pressing issues in California's education system. Applicants for the Executive Director position should have an advanced degree (PhD preferred) and a minimum of 5 years' relevant experience, including at least 5 years of experience in managing staff. The role requires a visionary leader with excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills, as well as the ability to manage budgets and develop financial plans. Desirable qualifications include a proven track record in building and managing relationships with diverse stakeholders, significant knowledge of California's education policy landscape, and experience in advising policymakers or leading a comparable-sized organization in the education sector. The ideal candidate will be adept at translating complex research into actionable insights and will have a deep understanding of the needs of California's diverse student populations.
