What you’ll do:

  • Field coordination of civil construction projects for new substations, expansions of existing substations, and other miscellaneous projects involving civil construction components, system wide.
  • Ensure unwavering adherence to Safety rules, means, and methods as well as ensuring Environmental compliance as mandated by the SWPPP, project permits, and local authorities. - Ability to read prints, properly project needs: equipment, material, manpower, etc
  • Be a direct liaison between Dominion Energy and contracted resources.
  • Communicate through submittals of weekly documentation i.e. progress reports, location reports, environmental safety assessments, pad handoffs.
  • Resolve construction obstacles as needed using all available resources and team support.
  • Provide onsite oversight to secure safe, compliant, timely, and quality construction of civil construction projects.

What you’ll need:

  • Ability to read prints, properly project needs: equipment, material, manpower, etc
  • Love of the outdoors and the ability to safely work independently while hiking rugged terrain and in inclement weather.
  • Ability to read and follow GIS data and maps
  • Leadership experience and a desire for career growth will be given a priority.
  • Demonstrated expertise in problem solving, meeting deadlines, and technical innovation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to interface with the public.
  • A background in the electric transmission construction, pipeline, utility field preferred.
  • Flexibility to travel 3 or more nights per week
  • Valid Driver’s License with clean DMV driving record and ability to drive and operate a 4x4 vehicle.
  • Organizational skills; working knowledge of computers and programs, file creation, manipulation, and sharing.
  • Four (4) year degree in Environmental Science, or Construction Management, or two (2) year A.S. degree in Environmental Science plus one (1) year relevant experience, or eight (8) years relevant experience
