Custodian

environment in an educational setting? You might be a perfect fit for our Custodian position. College of
Saint Mary custodians are essential employees who perform a wide variety of custodial duties and
related work as required under general supervision.

Our Ideal Candidate’s Education and Experience Include:

• Required: High school diploma or equivalent; one year of commercial cleaning experience.
• Preferred: At least one year of cleaning experience in a school or university setting.
  

This Position’s Responsibilities Include:

• Clean and dust a variety of areas which may include conference rooms, offices, classrooms,

kitchens, living spaces, restrooms, dormitory rooms, laboratories, lobbies, locker rooms,
gymnasiums, stairways, corridors and elevators on a daily basis.

• Clean, sanitize, and maintain restrooms and showers.
• Sweep, vacuum, mop, scrub, wax, shampoo, strip, refinish and spot clean carpeting and hard

surface floors as required.

• Clean glass, chalkboards, display cases, interior partitions and light fixtures which are reachable

from the floor.

• Empty trash from receptacles and place in dumpsters.
  

Physical Demands

• Considerable physical exertion with extensive standing or walking; Must be able to stand, lift,

bend, push and pull; Full use of arms, hands, feet, and legs; Close vision, distance vision, depth
perception, with or without corrective lenses; Ability to occasionally lift pounds.
