Job Description

Robert Half if partnering with healthcare organization in the recruiting for an experienced Accounts Receivable (AR) Manager to oversee the revenue cycle operations for their practice. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of healthcare billing processes, payer policies, and regulations, along with excellent leadership and operations skills. This role is vital to ensuring the efficient collection of outstanding payments while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations and supporting the overall financial health of the practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of the accounts receivable process for the practice.
  • Ensure timely and accurate billing for services rendered, adhering to payer guidelines and coding policies.
  • Collaborate with billing and coding teams to streamline processes and improve overall revenue cycle efficiency.
  • Assist leadership with preparing monthly and quarterly financial reports detailing AR performance, including metrics such as aging receivables, collection rates, and payer trends.
  • Analyze practice revenue data to identify areas for improvement and recommend actionable strategies to optimize collections.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with insurance payers and patients to facilitate prompt payments and smooth communication.
  • Work closely with providers and office staff to address patient concerns related to billing or balances.
  • Partner with external vendors and managed services when needed for collections or specialized billing support.
  • Manage, train, and mentor the AR team, promoting a culture of accuracy, efficiency, and customer service.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, accounting, finance, or a relevant field; equivalent experience in lieu of degree may be considered.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of accounts receivable experience in a medical healthcare setting.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to manage teams, drive efficiency, and build relationships across departments.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in medical billing software, claims processing systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel expertise preferred).
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of medical coding, payer policies, and healthcare compliance regulations.
